Your Inner Scholar
Mark your calendar and tap into your inner scholar. Stimulating and provocative, Spalding Nix's monthly Culture Club meetings are appreciated by budding art enthusiasts, art history buffs and curiously cultured individuals alike. If you haven't been able to make these monthly meetings (the hour-long programs are typically followed by dinner and discussion at nearby restaurants), next Thursday, October 19th, is your chance. Dr. Ulrich Leben will present a lecture on A Family Affair: Treasures from the Rothschild Collection at Waddesdon Manor.
Nix, the owner of the eponymous gallery, was featured in AH&L's "20 Under 40" issue this year. Past events have included presentations on the life and sculpture of Niki de Saint Phalle by High Museum Curator Ellen Fleruov; the Orly plane crash that devastated Atlanta's art community in '62; and a lecture by a local author. The Galleries of Peachtree Hills, 425 Peachtree Hills Ave. RSVP by calling (404) 841-7777.
