What about Rome?

Text: By Elizabeth

Don't let all the hubbub about the Louvre Atlanta exhibition
opening at the High keep you from exploring your options. This fall and
winter, the city's thriving arts scene may have you feeling as though
you've travelled abroad--minus the jetlag. First on the list: The
Carlos Museum's Discovering Rome: Maps and Monuments of the Eternal City,
which explores imperial Rome's incredible architectural legacy--ancient
ruins, churches, Renaissance villas and gardens, now  through
January 3.
And this Wednesday, the Carlos Museum, in conjunction with its In Stabiano
exhibition, has partnered up with La Tavola Trattoria in
Virginia-Highland to provide a taste of Italy through an offering of
varietals from the country's Campania region, paired with hors
d'oeuvres, before viewing the exhibit's collection of ancient Roman
frescoes. Salute!
