At Last

Text: By Clint Smith

The search is over! After what seems like an eternity—probably two years, at least—I have finally found them. My long-lost tumblers. They are my favorite glasses in the world, but one day they disappeared from store shelves. Crate & Barrel was the store that carried them. But, after perusing the latest catalog from CB2 this weekend, their spin-off that features more modern design, there they were: My Marta tumblers. But could it be true? After reading the description, there was no doubt in my mind: "Stylish and micro-thin, Marta is the mere suggestion of a glass, especially considering its grand size." Micro-thin is an understatement, as they truly are lighter than a feather. I can't tell you how many I've broken just putting them in the dish washer, but at $1.95-$2.50 each, who cares!? Filled with water or milk, they look like a piece of art.
