Dinner to Remember

There are dinners and there are dinners! And the amazing French feast that 103 West’s Hilary White and her team presented on Saturday night was le réve. The Les Dames D’Escoffier Atlanta Chapter (one of Atlanta’s basic four food groups) celebrated its 10th Anniversary in tribute to Auguste Escoffier’s 160th Birthday. The Classic French menu, flawlessly conceived and flawlessly presented is still in my mind—especially the Terrine de Caneton á la Gelée (mai oui!) that was rumored to take Hillary three whole days to make. Even the Robert Long centerpieces were tasty—seedless red grapes were amidst a virtual garden of purple and white freckled orchids and galax.
