Two stylish siblings parlay their shared Palm Beach pedigree into a new gift boutique that serves up traditional décor—with a twist

Brother-sister duo Greg Fleming and Kim Puffenbarger opened upscale Brookhaven boutique Davonshire Home & Garden in September as a tribute to their grandfather, who immigrated from the Czech Republic in the '20s and set up a custom tailoring business on Palm Beach's prestigious Worth Avenue. The siblings derived their shop's name from a fabric remnant unearthed from his collection, printed simply “Davonshire.”

Fleming, who was six years a concierge at The Ritz-Carlton, Buckhead, extends that same graciousness and decorum to every customer who comes in his shop, where it's more than worth a visit. Treasures like Hungarian pottery, pewter utensils and an array of French antiques mix with art from Roswell's Timothy Michael Gallery, while intricately embellished linens, Puffenbarger's handiwork, mingle with hand-crafted soaps from Lebanon, Syria, Tunisia and France. A garden display in the back boasts reclaimed-wood birdhouses, cement pots cast from antique baskets and faux botanical arrangements that look like the real thing. (Fleming was once star of the Urban Market for his artisanship and routinely sold out inventory). But among all the enviable objects—including customizable china from Pickard, the oldest china company in the U.S.—perhaps the most unforgettable is a 7-foot equine sculpture assembled from driftwood gathered on the shores of Bali. Word is it's not for sale, but we hear they'll price it upon request.
