Chef Secrets - Two Urban Licks
Unlike anything Atlanta (or just about anywhere) has ever seen, this colossal shrine to food, wine and good times was positioned to be number one with just the opening of the front door.

From the very first impression at TWO. urban licks, you'll delight in the unexpected. Unlike anything Atlanta (or just about anywhere) has ever seen, this colossal shrine to food, wine and good times was positioned to be number one with just the opening of the front door.

TWO is everything at once, blending the vision and ideals of all three partners. From approachable and relaxed to high energy and hip, TWO is cutting edge and imaginative—never stuffy, always fun. Entering the building through a drive-in platform, guests are whisked through a lush, lofty open-air garden alight with sparkling fountains, into the soaring bar. Separated from the outdoors by floor-to-ceiling "garage" doors, the dining room is just beyond and like a life-giving heart, the kitchen is smack in the middle of everything—with massive, hovering hood and 14-foot tall, wood-fire rotisserie.  And at center stage with the lights of downtown as a backdrop and surrounded by adoring patrons, Chef Scott leads the nightly show with his boyish grin and show-stopping skills at the stove.

Before one taste of the fiery American cuisine, you'll be drawn to the towering wine wall. The first of its kind in the United States (and perhaps the world), the glass-enclosed structure is built entirely of steel and houses 42 stainless kegs—filled with not beer, but wine, produced exclusively for the restaurant and served on-tap by the glass, half and full carafe. The only thing youíll find in bottles here are bubbles—in the beer, and in Champagne.

In the kitchen, Serpas' New Orleans background shines. On the "no rules" menu, innovative twists on the traditional showcase seasonal ingredients, while smoke and sauces keep him in the Grill Master crown. "It's all about the flavor," notes the chef. "I like to think outside the box and let the flavors guide what I do. I combine the best from my past and tradition with the best of what is seasonal and fresh."

From small plates to whole roast fish and meats of the day, savory selections abound. Begin with a fried green tomato crab avocado stack or lamb sage "lollipops" with California grape Chile jam and goat cheese. Move on to traditional seafood gumbo with bay leaf rice (this guy knows his gumbo) and Bing cherry-feta-rocket salad with sherry olive oil vinaigrette. Anything from the rotisserie promises succulent, slow-cooked goodness—duck with citrus sage glaze, special occasion suckling pig or juicy brisket with roasted garlic horseradish sour cream. And for dessert, Executive Pastry Chef Jennifer Etchison expressively compliments the dinner menu with sweet treats. For parties of six or more, with 24 hours notice, Chef Scott will collaborate with your party for a menu prepared especially for your evening at TWO. (This is the chance to dive in, fork first, to suckling pig—a rare specialty, slowly roasted to perfection on the rotisserie.)

And as if all of this weren't experience enough—the patio offers the ultimate spot to kick back, enjoy the night air and incredible view with a game of Bocce Ball and a live blues band.

It seems as if this talented trio has thought of every last detail for an unforgettable TWO experience, but one question remains. What will they think of next?
